Here are some of my favorite links and links to sites that I
have found useful.
 | AKC The American
Kennel Club is dedicated to upholding the integrity of its Registry, promoting the sport
of purebred dogs and breeding for type and function. Founded in 1884, the AKCŪ and its
affiliated organizations advocate for the purebred dog as a family companion, advance
canine health and well-being, work to protect the rights of all dog owners and promote
responsible dog ownership. |
 | ASFA The American
Sighthound Field Association is an organization of Sighthound fanciers dedicated to the
common goal of preserving and further developing the natural beauty, grace, speed and
coursing skill of the Sighthound. ASFA maintains rules, procedures, and records for lure
field trials. They endeavor to promote lure field trials for sighthounds. |
 | Borzoi Central Borzoi
Central is an internet portal for Borzoi fanciers. They have a collection of links
that relate to Borzoi, including health, breeding and genetics, a breeders' linkexchange,
club listings, rescue listings, historical articles and more. There are also several
interactive areas including a message board, e-cards, event calendar, judge rating
database and the popular online pedigree database. |
 | Borzoi Club of America
Objectives of the Borzoi Club of America are to encourage and promote the
preservation and welfare of the pure bred Borzoi and to do all possible to bring the
Breed's natural qualities to perfection; to urge members, breeders and judges to accept
the Standard of the Breed, as approved by the American Kennel Club, as the only Standard
of excellence by which the Borzoi shall be bred and judged; to urge members and breeders
to abide by the Code of Ethics and the Guidelines for Breeders of the Borzoi Club of
America, Inc.; to do all in its power to protect and advance the interest of the Breed by
encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dogs shows and Borzoi affairs; to conduct
licensed and sanctioned specialty shows under the rules of the American Kennel Club and to
perform required duties as Parent Club of the Breed; and to encourage the organization of
independent local Borzoi specialty clubs in those localities where there are sufficient
fanciers of the Breed to meet the requirements of the American Kennel Club. All
Borzoi enthusiasts should at least be familiar with this site, if not a member of this
organization. |
 | Breeding Better Dogs
Carmen L. Battaglia, Ph.D., takes a highly sophisticated, scientific, and
technical subject like genetics and makes it not only easy to understand, but even fun!
He has been doing that for the past twenty five years to the amazement and delight
of the dog-breeding world. He calls it "Breeding Better Dogs" and it does. |
 | Brolin's Borzoi Kris
Brolin is a long time Borzoi breeder, professional handler, and dear friend. |
 | Doc's Blend Want to keep
that Borzoi coat thick and lustrous? Try Doc Lord's Hair of the Dog.
It works! |
 | Dog Bloom I usually do not
give my dogs supplements, figuring that it just makes expensive pee. However, these
folks guarantee the analysis of their products and the Dog Bloom VM
Supreme cured my Puppy Love of her itchy coat and their Performance Bloom Gluco Plus gives
my 11 year old Collie a spring in his step. |
 | GoLightly Borzoi Marcella
Zobel is a long time Borzoi Breeder and my very valued mentor. |
 | Greater Twin Cities
Borzoi Club This is my 'neighborhood' Borzoi Club. GTCBC was
founded in 1974, and serves Borzoi owners
and fanciers in the greater Twin Cities area of Minneapolis/St Paul, Minnesota, with
membership reaching surrounding states. The purpose of the Club is to promote education
and support through bi-monthly meetings and other activities in the areas of canine
health, conformation, obedience, lure and open field coursing and to encourage responsible
breeding practices. Their club activities include their Annual Independent Specialty
Show each June, participation in local events such as the St Paul Winter Carnival Parade,
the Renaissance Festival, Annual Picnic, Spring Garlic Festival, Lure Coursing Practice,
Borzoi Walk and their Annual Holiday Party. |
 | Leicro
Borzoi Visit this wonderful Swedish Borzoi Kennel. Many of my Borzoi
have roots here. Be sure to check out Int Ch, Am
Ch, Dutch Ch Puer Ch V'Indra's Irek
JC 's page. |
 | LGRA The Large Gazehound Racing Association's purposes are educational and
recreational and not for profit. To encourage and promote the sighthounds in their
historic role as hunters who capture their quarry through the chase; to test sprint speed
and function; to evaluate breeding stock; and to encourage the development of well trained
racers competing against other sighthounds in organized straight track racing events held
on a flat, natural surface. |
 | Pets Welcome.com A very useful site to find lodging, restaurants,
etc. that are pet friendly. |
 | Sighthound Gear OK, this is my business website. But hey,
since this is my kennel's website, I can list it. We make and sell collars, jackets,
and warm-ups. We also sell muzzles, cool coats, BLOOM Dog Supplements, and other
items as we find them. |
 | Sighthound Imaging This is my husband's website. He is an
awesome photographer. Check out some of his lure coursing and racing photographs. |
